Work Study

Crooked Creek Farm offers a Work-to-Ride Program designed for middle school and high school students who are passionate about horses and eager to learn through hands-on experience.

Participants gain valuable barn management and horsemanship skills while earning riding time through their work. Once students reach driving age, they may have the opportunity to join our team as paid staff members.

To participate, students must:

  • Attend a staff training session

  • Track their own hours

  • Be able to work independently and responsibly

While work study takes place only when staff members are present, participants are expected to take initiative—spotting tasks that need attention and using their ingenuity and problem-solving skills to get them done.

This program is a great way to build confidence, responsibility, and teamwork skills—both in and out of the saddle.
