Highlights from FENCE- April 29

On April 29th, eight Crooked Creek Farm riders along with Zippy, Iris, Fergie, Butterscotch, Diamond, and Sage traveled to FENCE in Landrum, SC. All the riders did well and the horses were happy to be out and about. Below are highlights from the show for each rider!

Ella Sexton and Fergie put a positive spin on the day by winning their Crossrails class (the first class of the day)! Throughout the day Ella kept Fergie’s pace consistent and worked on her diagonals, leading to several ribbons and a happy pony! Go Ella and Fergie!

Heidi Sanders showed two horses in the FENCE horse show. Heidi kept Butterscotch on her best behavior during the Showmanship and In-Hand Classes. During the English classes Heidi and Zippy had consistent trots and great transitions! In between her classes, Heidi found time to encourage the other riders and wish them luck on their courses. Keep up the hard work and good sportsmanship Heidi!

Brisen Gainey and Butterscotch competed in their first show as a pair. They did a great job in all their classes, but Brisen showed incredible horsemanship in the trail class. During the trail class Brisen stayed patient and determined to have Butterscotch perform each obstacle. Keep riding Brisen!

Abbie Bailes took on many roles throughout the day; groom, assistant trainer, horse trainer, and rider. Abbie agreed to take Iris (a green pony) into the Walk/Trot flat classes and took Diamond and Butterscotch into the more advanced flat classes. Instead of competing in the Crossrails class Abbie helped other riders learn their Showmanship pattern. Thank you for helping Abbie! Keep riding!

A big “Thank You” to everyone who gave up their day to support the Crooked Creek Farm riders and staff!
